Who We Are

We believe in a future where neurodiversity is understood, valued, accepted and, celebrated.

We support those who see things differently.

We are Camp Winston.

What We Do

Camp Winston, located on the shores of Sparrow Lake, plays a crucial role in the lives of youth living with complex neurobiological abilities including but not limited to, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Tourettes Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Learning Disabilities, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Anxiety Disorders, and Oppositional Defiant Disorder.

For children with complex neurobiological challenges, life can be difficult. At Camp Winston, children have the opportunity to escape their often challenging daily lives, connect with others in a way never before experienced, and build life-long skills to better cope with the world around them.

Camp Winston offers summer programs for children 7-17, as well as respite weekends and support services throughout the year for families challenged by the daily pressures and strain of raising children with neurobiological challenges. These programs and services also support grandparents raising grandchildren, and children being raised in alternative care.

The Winston Way

The Winston Way is a uniquely compassionate approach that allows campers to feel safe and welcome, enabling them to connect, belong and thrive, in an environment of acceptance. Using a specialized and individualized curriculum, all of our staff are trained to meet youth where they are, listen reflectively, problem-solve, and praise specifically. Staff learn to support each camper to reach their individual potential and highlight the natural consequences of challenging behaviours so that they may internalize the Winston Way.

We Support

Children: by mitigating the cumulative effects of unfair obstacles, isolation, affordability and access to programs

Caregivers: by offering support to overwhelmed caregivers/families year round.

An Equitable System: To close gaps in the system leading to misunderstood, isolated, and discouraged children
