Contract Length: 1 Year Contract with an option to renew

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm daily

Reports to: Senior Director and the Foundation Co-Directors

Duties & Responsibilities

Camp Program Operations

  • Crisis Response

    • Lead crisis response 

    • Support staff to learn skills to be more confident and adept at both averting and managing camper and staff crises 

    • Debrief staff members and campers involved in crisis 

    • Problem solve proactively with staff members and campers to reduce or prevent future crises. 

    • Oversee incident reporting protocol. 

  • Staff Recruitment

    • Create and post jobs on relevant job posting portals 

    • Conduct interviews alongside the Senior Director or Camp Directors 

  • Staff Coaching and Training

    • Train and coach senior staff members and cabin heads 

    • Evaluate senior staff members over the course of the summer

    • Provide check-ins for senior staff members as needed

    • Provide ongoing support for front-line staff as directed or as needed. 

  • Impact and Goal Metrics

    • Manage the goal metric system established in 2017. 

  • Management of Seasonal Administrator

    • Delegate Section 2 (Administration) as appropriate. 

  • Respite

    • Coordinate all weekend programs in conjunction with:

      1. Families 

      2. Staff Teams 

      3. Cooks 

      4. Maintenance 

      5. Transportation 

  • OCA

    • In collaboration with the Directors, ensure compliance with Ontario Camps Association standards and legislative requirements related to camp programs. 


  • Manage email correspondence at

  • Manage all telephone calls directed to 416-487-6229 x 105 and 705-689-9096 

  • Manage office opening and closing, telephone receipt and distribution of correspondence

  • Make financial plans with all families who access Camp Winston services

  • Invoice families

  • Assist with applications for financial support

  • Apply for grants specifically related to covering costs for families

    • AMICI, Kids in Camp, Toronto Star Fresh Air Camp, president’s Choice Charity, etc.

  • Follow through with reporting needs for successful grants

  • Conduct intake for both respite and summer programs

    • Manage physical camper files all data related to respite and camp activities. 

    • Collect and manage all documentation for staff members including police checks, tax forms, contracts, health forms, first aid certificates and programming licenses as required 

    • Process camp revenue and grant related payments 

    • Participate in weekly financial close-out process 

    • Oversee office supply inventory and ensure all equipment functions reliably. 

    • Supervise and coordinate the transition of the off-season office to and from the summer camp location. 


  • Create and implement a plan for former and current staff engagement throughout the year. 

  • Assist with Event Coordination as directed by the Board of Directors, The Director Team, or relevant Board Committees 

  • Assist with Major Gift and Grants as directed by the Board of Directors, The Director Team, or relevant Board Committees
