Counsellors and Activity Instructors Camp Winston attracts staff from a wide range of backgrounds and skills who all have extensive experience working with children with special needs. Camp Winston counsellors are aware of their campers' individual and interpersonal goals and serve as advocates for these children. Counsellors support their campers in all ways necessary and are available to ensure that children meet their goals and succeed at specialty rotations, during trips, special days and in all other areas of camp life. They are particularly sensitive to the needs of their campers during transitions (arrival, departure, between activities) and during difficult behavioural and emotional times. Our high ratio of counsellors to campers permits one-to-one support during autism camp and when required during other sessions.
